The Superpave Plant Technologist Course is a 4 day class designed to educate participants on the duties, responsibilities, and requirements of personnel involved in the production, placement, quality control, and/or quality assurance of asphalt pavements on highways, airfields, and developments in Kentucky. Areas of concentration include KYTC contract and documentation requirements, general asphalt mixing plant information, daily inspection duties, asphalt and aggregate sampling, and materials testing requirements for KYTC acceptance. Participants will receive official certification based on their successful completion of both a written and practical examination. Official certification as a Superpave Plant Technologist will be accompanied by all rights and privileges as specified in the current edition of the KYTC Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction.
