The Road Master Training Program is an additional level of training beyond the Roads Scholar Program and requires seven more days of training. It provides a higher level of technical information and is targeted toward those individuals who want to become managers.

REQUIREMENTS:
To become a Road Master, an individual must complete the Roads Scholar Training Program and complete the Road Master's four required courses and three of the optional courses listed below. Courses for both training programs may be taken simultaneously.

Please note that payment for courses must be made at time of registration, with the exception of KYTC employees. Cancellations must be made 3 days in advance of your scheduled date in order to receive a refund. Persons arriving more than 15 minutes late to class will not be admitted. Also, out of respect for other students and in consideration of the importance of the information being taught, persons missing more than 15 minutes of the training during the day or leaving more than 15 minutes early at the end of the day, will not receive credit for the course. Thank you for your cooperation.

Fees:  Fees for a Road Masters course is $75 for city and county employees; $85 for all others.

Agenda:  To reduce overtime and travel for transportation agency employees during this time of budget restrictions, course times have been set as follows: registration for each course begins at 8:15 a.m., training session begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. The lunch break is 30 minutes.

Attendance:  To help a participant get the most out of each training session/workshop, attendance is limited. However, without the required minimum of 15 people, a course will be cancelled. All courses are subject to change. If there are any changes, the registered party will be notified immediately. NOTE:  State employees wishing to register for a Road Master course should contact their District Training Coordinators. All state registrations must come to us from the Training Coordinators. Click on the course descriptions listed above to register.

Cancellation:  If registered and cannot attend, please let us know at least two days prior to the course. If we do not receive advance notice, the registration fee will be charged.  Of course, someone may substitute for you at any time.

Time limit to complete courses: There is now a time limit of five years in which to complete all of the Road Master courses in order to receive your certificate. Any Road Master course taken over five years before you complete your last Road Master course will not count towards your Road Master Certification.

To receive credit for any of the Center's training sessions you must be present during the entire class. If you leave early or are missing during part of the session, you will not receive credit for the course.
